ACCESSORIES REPORT: Animal Instinct

Accessories Report

Generally, when we think about animal prints in fashion, a few distinctive words come to mind: gaudy, loud, tacky etc. But, that is absolutely not the norm. This Fashionista proves that animal print can be done in a fashionable, stylish and fun way that will make everyone think twice about their next purchase.

In past decades, herds of shoppers stampeded in to the stores (pun intended) in order to fill their closets with animal prints, from leopard to zebra. Nowadays, it’s done a bit differently. Bold prints and colors haven’t gone out of style, they have just transitioned to accessories. Less is more! Instead of an entire outfit consisting of loud patterns, stick to a few small accessories that showcase the same print, but in a less obvious way. Tights are the perfect example! The days of solid black and navy tights are gone and bright colors and patterns are here to stay.

I loved the way this Fashionista accessorized her look and built it around the leopard print leggings. The high boots cover up some of the leg, making the pattern a bit less noticeable, and therefore more of an accent than a focal point. The neutral colors of her sweater and scarf were just the right choices to pair with the print. When incorporating strong patterns into your outfit, it’s important not to overdo it with bold colors or shapes in the rest of the ensemble. If leggings are a bit too much for you, you can always try a fun patterned scarf or tote bag!

So, take a hint from this Fashionista and add a little animal instinct to your next look!
