Accessories Report

During those days when the weather becomes a bit chillier than usual, it is always best to layer up. This becomes a difficult task when you want to stay warm and at the same time look fashionable for the day. This week’s featured Fashionista is a perfect example on how to layer up and be warm while at the same time staying trendy and fashion forward. In terms of her choice of wardrobe, this Fashionista chose to wear a knee-length gray peacoat that complemented very well with her moss green pants. Peacoats are always a great way to dress up any outfit during the winter.

In terms of her accessories, this Fashionista was right on point with her wool hat. The hat, that was definitely the staple piece of her wardrobe, was what caught my attention when I saw her walking around the compass at Virginia Commonwealth University. One of the best features about this hat is the rich burgundy color that is has and that is then complemented by a simple brown braided tassel cord that goes all around the base. A hat like this is a must-have accessory this fall/winter season because they are versatile and will dress up any outfit you wear it with. This Fashionista stated that she purchased the hat at a local thrift store called Ashby in Carytown, Richmond. These hats can also be purchased at retail stores such as Forever 21, H&M and ASOS. These brands offer a great selection of hats similar to this one and in other popular styles such as wide brim fedoras, floppy hats and bowler hats. Furthermore, this Fashionista also chose to wear an oversized infinity scarf in beige and black boots that had a very cool and innovative buckle detail on the side. Her outfit was executed to perfection and she was definitely able to keep warm.

Spotted: On the runway of Juicy Couture fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection, models can be spotted wearing winter hats including wool fedora hats.
