We all have those days when we wake up and struggle with putting an outfit together. In this week’s ACCESSORIES REPORT we take a close look at a Fashionista who put together a trendy, easy-to-wear outfit that looks like she picked it out the night before. What’s her advice when you don’t know what to wear? Put on black.
As winter is still occurring here in New Orleans, Fashionista’s have to get creative while still staying warm. Although New Orleans isn’t use to a long winter like this, it doesn’t mean the climate has to bring down the fashion.
This week’s Fashionista wears black leggings, with an oversized black sweater and finishes it off with a leather jacket. This Fashionista shows that you can definitely pull off a plain, single-colored outfit, that everyone notices.
If you have been keeping up with current runway fashion, you’ll see that all black, and specifically black leather, has been a recurring trend for years. There isn’t an appropriate season or time to wear black leather, because it is a year-round look. This Fashionista wears her all black outfit, with black boots to class, showing a casual and comfy yet fashionable outfit for the day. Because it has been extra cold here, I really enjoyed her black headpiece as an added accessory that not only keeps her warm, but also makes her outfit chic and trendy.
By making her outfit plain, I really liked how this Fashionista added minimal jewelry to complete the look. Her gold and black ring as well as her sunglasses, allow her leather jacket to capture the show.
What I especially liked about her outfit was that you could easily just switch the shoes and wear it for a night out with friends. Add a little bootie with a heel or wedges, and put a colorful purse on and you’ve got yourself the perfect going out outfit.
So, Fashionistas, a simple black colored outfit, whether it is for class or for going out, can catch someone’s eye more than you think. An effortless outfit in your mind can be a memorable outfit in someone else’s.
Spotted: All black outfits, with a leather jacket, were seen in Elie Tahari’s fall 2014 collection. The addition of the black beanie with the jacket accessorizes the outfit, while still keeping it simple.
