Whenever I think of pastels, Easter and spring are the first two things that come to mind. But, pastel colors have slowly been sneaking their way into my summer wardrobe as they have for this Fashionista. Pastel colors also always remind me of innocence, and I think that is why I really love to incorporate them in my wardrobe. I usually wear a lot of edgy, bohemian pieces, and a touch of pastel instantly lights up any outfit that I put on. One of my favorite places to purchase cute pastel accessories to top off any outfit is at Forever 21 since you can purchase a lot for a small amount of money. Then, when pastel is no longer in season or in style, it will not be a big deal to you since you didn’t splurge on it!
As soon as I spotted this Fashionista absolutely glowing on her way to class, I completely fell in love with her angelic look. The white chiffon high-low dress screamed innocence! The dress was so on point since high-low skirts and dresses are all over every store that you step into. Once I approached her and got a better look at the outfit, I was awed by how much pastel she incorporated into her outfit and how much I adored the look. She paired the perfect light green G.H. Bass & Co. shoes with a matching necklace that she purchased from JCPenney. I loved the little dare she took when she paired all this green with the pale pink Urban Outfitters belt! I felt that the pastel gave a little contrast to such a white dress. Sometimes it can be too much to wear a pastel blazer or pastel pants, so accessories in those daring colors are perfect since they add just the right amount of pizazz. This Fashionista also dared to throw on a neon pink striped Rebecca Minkoff bag with all this pastel, which looks pretty chic in my opinion. All in all, I fell in love with this look, and I’m inspired to check out more pastel accessories next time I’m at the mall!
Spotted: On the MBFW fall 2013 ready-to-wear runway, Giorgio Armani featured perfect examples of how to incorporate pastel accessories into your wardrobe. With a collection filled with mostly black and white garments, the brand spiced up its looks with these small touches of pastel that toned down their edgy collection. This is something that you can easily do at home!
