STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Lost Boy

Style Advice of the Week

Every time I visit Belmont University’s nearby coffee shop, I am blown away by all of the Fashionistas/os sipping their drinks and flipping through textbooks. This coffee shop regular in particular is one I have been watching very closely for the past couple of months. I’ve been waiting to catch him in the perfect look and I think I have finally found it.

So many elements of this Fashionisto’s outfit make it street style worthy. From the bleached black jeans to the personalized denim and leather jacket, it’s obvious that a ton of DIY work went into this look. And boy, did it pay off. All of the colors, patterns and textures in this outfit keep you interested and even leave you coveting his uniqueness and creative abilities.

Whenever I bump into this Fashionisto, I pretend he’s a lost boy from a ‘80s vampire flick. He’s certainly got that “mess with me and I’ll kill you” look, but there’s a sincere shyness about him as well. I guess you really can’t judge someone by his or her clothes. The friendliest of people might be the ones wearing the most intimidatingly awesome clothing.

If you want to recreate this Fashionisto’s look, try taking a bottle of bleach to any pair of black jeans. Let it soak on the pants then throw them in the wash. Then, personalize a jacket with pins, patches, paint or whatever else you can find. Throw on a flannel and some combat boots and you’re ready to be photographed by street style bloggers everywhere.
