This week again proved to be warm and sunny - one of those times where all the college students seem to pour out of dorm rooms, fraternity and sorority houses, apartment buildings and out of class rooms to stretch out their limbs on campus parks and other nearby grassy areas. Students could be seen playing classic ultimate frisbee, lounging on blankets while studying, and just catchin' some rays while chatting with friends.
This week's Fashionista was caught photographing friends and students in their natural habitat – one of Springfield's still-green city parks. Her love of photography and love of fashion stood out to me as she described how she was working on a new project for one of her classes. Even though when you think about fall you don't automatically think floral, our gal found a way to incorporate the trend into her outfit. Aim for darker colors, like black, navy, and maroon which will keep the outfit from looking too summery.
Check out this faux-velvet dress from Forever 21 - the texture gives the outfit a rich feeling while the color palette is in keeping with traditional fall colors. Feel free to spice up a more simple floral dress with a faux lamb fur vest to give off a vintage vibe. For accessories, keep the rest of you warm with wool leggings and some funky boots like these from Chinese Laundry. A lot of attitude with some softer sweet florals can be the perfect pairing for a new look for fall!
