You've all heard the old saying about not wearing white after Labor Day. However, this old school fashion rule is constantly being revamped by fashionistas around the country! As the weather continues to fluctuate, Springfield experienced a burst of sunshine and seventy-five degree days, which in turn brought our gal this week to don her favorite outfit – a crisp a-line skirt and a bright blue fitted tank. When working white basics into your fall wardrobe, keep in mind that each piece needs to have a bit more substance than your summer whites. If you choose to wear light weight fabrics, top them off with a cute cropped jacket, or a fun cardigan to keep your arms toasty warm. If the weather allows you to lighten your load, follow our gal's style by pairing a basic white bottom with a bright fitted top. You can also go all white with wool pants and a cashmere turtleneck or sweater – winter whites looks incredibly luxurious. Since head-to-toe white can seem daunting, work in some texture to help break up the monochromatic look. Check out this fabulous pencil skirt from Etsy - the high waist and the unique detailing will guarantee more than one head-turn!
As fall continues to transition from warm to cool, keep your footwear in mind as well. A wedge sandal is great for those rare warm autumn days, and like the one shown, a pattern will add some great visual interest to a more basic outfit. For a hip modern look, these edgy sandals from Sergio Rossi are the perfect splurge! If you're looking for a wedge that will transition to winter easier, these grey leather wedges from Aldo are a more frugal option.
While autumn appears to have stalled for the week, have fun mixing in your summer clothing with new fall pieces – and remember to let your personality always shine through!
