STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Play On Words

Style Advice of the Week

A good graphic T-shirt is always a Fashonista/o closet staple because it can be thrown on with a lot of different outfits. This week’s Fashionista's graphic tank wasn’t just a typical graphic T-shirt, but a motivating one at that. With Pinterest, Tumblr and Instagram inspiring quotes have become increasingly popular. Everyone needs a little words of encouragement, so why not wear them on a top?

This week’s Fashionista motivated me to find inspiring shirts just like hers. She accessorized her graphic tank, knit skirt, denim jacket and booties well. The jacket, skirt and beanie made it easy for her to transition her outfit throughout the day in the spontaneous Iowa weather. Want to look and feel good by wearing graphic words? Check out a few of my favorites I've found at every price-point.

First off, I found this never look back graphic sweater. I like the contrast in colors because it really makes the letters stand out. Pair this sweater with a fun pair of skinny cords or a dark leopard skinny pant. Top off the outfit with black lace up boots. Adding a pop of color with a red loafer or flat would also be a great way to jazz up the outfit.

This peace embellished graphic T-shirt is a good alternative to the sweater. It's similar to that of this week’s Fashionista, just a different word, yet still simple and powerful! The embellishments off the shoulder gives the top an edge. For a casual look, wear this with paneled leggings and a studded flat.

For the splurge item, this run free graphic top is an investment. Since it's rather simple, it could be worn often and styled in many ways. I’ve been loving patterned pants since the spring and think that this simple T-shirt would look great with a floral printed skinny or even a striped skinny. Keep the outfit simple with classic Converse or spice it up with a wedge bootie.

Give everyone a little boost in their step by wearing a few simple words. After all, the more often you have a good attitude, the more often you’ll have a better day.
