Prints were all the rage this past spring and summer from leopard and python, to Aztec and floral. Unlike our tans, we don’t have to leave our favorite prints behind. Take your beloved summer prints into fall by simply layering and choosing alternative garments.
This week’s Fashionisto is a great example of how to take your prints into the cooler months. While looking stylish in his ikat printed shorts, he paired them with a long sleeved henley for the chilly Iowa nights.
For the gents, I love this blue Ikat patterned shirt. The short sleeves make it wearable for the daytime hours but still allow a sweater or jacket for the nighttime without adding bulk. Wear this shirt with a pair of slim fit jeans and a pair of classic Vans like this Fashionisto. If you’re feeling adventurous, pair this shirt with a pair of colored chino pants.
For the ladies, bring ikat into fall by adding this loop scarf to any outfit. The colors are perfect for fall and super versatile. Wear it with a denim or military jacket, a simple T-shirt or an oversized sweater with leggings and booties.
Whether the print you love is leopard or ikat, it is easy to wear them into the fall. When the temperatures goes down, simply add a chunky sweater or scarf and you’re out the door!
