The simplicity of an all black and white ensemble never goes out of style, but it just so happens to be one of the top trends on the runways this spring. Céline and Marc Jacobs went back to the basics this season, giving us all a breath of fresh air after loads of embellishment and sparkle that defined the seasons past. This Fashionista embodies the effortless urban street-style that can easily be staunched by one too many accessories. She shows us the perfect accessory ratio necessary for rocking a neutral color palate.

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Alicia Perez: I guess I would say my style is trendy. I don’t really have a specific style, but more than likely you’ll see me rocking the “in-trends” of the season.
CF: Where do you get fashion inspiration?
AP: I get my fashion from everywhere, honestly. Whether it’s from blogs, YouTube or even just walking around campus; there’s so many fashionable people in this world, so I love to take inspiration from them!
CF: Describe your outfit.
AP: I am wearing my favorite leggings from Zara, my beanie is from H&M and my combat boots are from Target, last season. My shirt is from a cute, random little store in the mall here in Tuscaloosa, and my accessories are all from Forever 21. Basically, a little bit of everything from everywhere!
CF: What is your favorite spring trend?
AP: As you can tell, I love the neon trend–hence my highlighter yellow wallet.
CF: How does fashion play a role in your life?
AP: It plays a large part for me. When I’m not having a good day I can at least depend on dressing a certain way to make me feel better
How to: Start off with your favorite black leggings and loose-fitting white T-shirt. Add your perfect combination of choice neon accessory, a denim accent and a beanie and you’re out the door. Remember, less is more.
