Dear Summer ’16,
When we first met, I had a lot of expectations and plans for us that, to be frank, I wasn’t sure you would be able to deliver. Thank you for living up to your hype.
We did a lot together. We hustled through internships, tackling both the demands of our boss and the hot, sticky subway system with grace and minimal complaining. The reunion with our hometown besties felt like we hadn’t skipped a beat. We read for pleasure, instead of being consumed with textbooks. Those beach days proved to be as gloriously sunny and memory filled as you promised. We explored, we grew, we laughed and, of course, we ate copious amounts of ice cream.
Soon I will move on to a new relationship with Fall. But even as I head back to school, know that I will carry the memories of our summer romance with me always.
